I. Machine Tool Overview

This machine tool is a CNC multi-axis linkage precision compound machine tool with both milling and grinding capabilities. Core configurations include a Fagor 9-axis 5-link CNC system and secondarily developed worm gear processing software, providing wide processing adaptability.


 

Its main processing range covers:


 

  • Various annular worm gears with a maximum center distance of 350mm;
  • Various cylindrical worm gears with a maximum workpiece diameter of 100mm, including normal straight-toothed worm gears (ZN), axial straight-toothed worm gears (ZA), involute worm gears (ZI), conical envelope worm gears (ZK), and circular arc cylindrical worm gears (ZC), etc.;
  • Milling or precision grinding of lead screws and threads;
  • Forming processing of complex parts such as screws, splines, and gears, fully demonstrating the multi-functional compound processing characteristics.

II. Function Introduction

1. Machine Tool Processing Precision

The machine tool spindle and tool rotary mechanism adopt a high-precision clearance transmission system, coupled with a full closed-loop detection and control system; the linear motion mechanism uses high-precision rolling linear guides and ball screw transmission, also equipped with a full closed-loop detection control system, capable of achieving micron-level precision processing.

2. Convenient and Quick Adjustment Operation

  • The machine tool spindle box and tailstock can automatically adjust their positions to quickly adapt to the clamping size requirements of different workpieces;
  • The axial position adjustment and movement of the tool are achieved through CNC automatic operation. Only the workpiece positioning dimensions need to be input, and the tool can accurately move to the processing datum position to complete quick tool setting, greatly improving clamping and tool setting efficiency.

3. Grinding Wheel Dressing

It has an intelligent grinding wheel dressing function, which can pause the grinding cycle at any position during processing to perform dressing operations; after dressing, the system automatically resumes the grinding process, ensuring processing precision and continuity.

4. High Degree of Automation

  • It adopts a nine-axis five-link CNC system, and all motion axes achieve CNC automatic movement;
  • Equipped with an intelligent human-machine interface, processing platform, and database, after inputting the workpiece parameters, it can automatically complete tool setting, cycle processing, until it automatically stops after reaching the set size;
  • Combined with an automatic loading and unloading system, unmanned processing can be achieved.

5. Processing Types

It can efficiently and precisely process annular worm gears, cylindrical worm gears (ZI, ZA, ZK, ZN), splines, lead screws, gears, and other cylindrical transmission parts.

IV. Machine Tool Structural Type

The machine tool adopts a horizontal structure, and the main components include: bed, workpiece spindle box, tool longitudinal moving slide, tool transverse moving slide, tool rotary worktable, tool radial moving mechanism, tool angle adjustment mechanism, tool power transmission mechanism, tool dressing mechanism, workpiece tailstock, electrical CNC system, cooling lubrication system, hydraulic system, and protective cover, etc.


 

Structural Layout Characteristics:


 

  • The workpiece spindle box and all moving parts are mounted on the longitudinal guideway (Z-axis guideway) of the bed;
  • The longitudinal moving slide is placed on the Z-axis guideway, and the tool transverse moving slide, tool rotary table, and tool radial feed mechanism are installed on it;
  • The tool angle adjustment mechanism, tool power transmission mechanism, and grinding wheel dressing mechanism are fixed to the tool radial movement mechanism;
  • The workpiece tailstock is located at the rear end of the Z-axis guideway.

V. Numerical Control System

A 9-axis 5-axis linkage numerical control system is adopted. The configuration of the 9 numerical control axes is as follows:
